RECONNECT
Meadowlark Ridge offers an opportunity to reconnect with nature for a relaxing weekend getaway. Upon arrival you can't help but notice the calming effect of biophilia - a concept popularized by E. O. Wilson that recognizes our innate love of nature and living systems.
Carefully selected natural materials surround you – from the log interior to the leather, wood and wool furnishings. The views from each room and sounds from outdoors help reinforce this strong connection to nature, bringing relaxation and stress reduction. The bird themes and artwork by local artists enhance this experience throughout.
Meadowlark Ridge bed and breakfast is the perfect place to relax and reconnect with all that you love in the Shenandoah Valley.

About
From the moment you arrive, you will be captivated by the beauty and serenity of the countryside, by both day and night. The log house, with its timber frame ceiling, is an oasis set in the middle of sixteen acres of meadows and private forest. Located near the George Washington National Forest on the western edge of the Shenandoah Valley, the house was built in 1975 by a local forester. In 2020, Rebecca Hannam, the manager, and I opened Meadowlark Ridge Bed and Breakfast.
The B&B may be new but the property has a long history in the area. My family has farmed the area for more than four generations. Many years ago the community was known as Oak Hill and had its own post office. Oak Hill Cemetery, within walking distance, has gravestones dating back to 1793. The cemetery hill was the location of many Methodist camp meetings in the 1800’s. Oak Hill School, a one-room schoolhouse where my grandmother once taught, stood at the intersection of Dividing Ridge Road and Oak Hill School Road.
My vision for Meadowlark Ridge is to offer fine service, luxurious amenities, and a memorable stay for every guest. It is the perfect place to relax and reconnect with friends and nature, or to get out and explore the history and beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. Welcome!
